Sometimes color makes all the difference

Hit the harbor refuge in Port Lavaca today during the incoming tide—there was some solid action in the water. When I showed up, there was already a guy fishing who mentioned he hadn’t had any luck. I noticed he was using an all-white glow lure… in the middle of the day.

Figured I’d help him out and tossed him a Down South Lure paddle tail in root beer. Sure enough, minutes after switching, he hooked into a redfish! Just goes to show how much of a difference matching color and water conditions can make.

Sometimes the right lure at the right time is all it takes.
