Indian Point Pier Questions

My wife and I will be in Portland for the month of October. I’ve thinking about fishing the Indian Point Pier. What’s the general opinion of this pier? Anyone catch reds or black drum off that pier. Are there lights on the pier for night fishing. Any info would be appreciated!

I pulled this off thier website:
Indian Point Park, Pavilion & Pier
Indian Point Park is now open!
The Indian Point Pavilion and Area improvements project included the demolition of the existing concessions building and the construction of an iconic shade structure, gathering spaces, food truck locations, and increased parking. Several improvements were made to the pier, too, including:
increased accessibility
upgraded pier railing
upgraded pier lighting
added green fishing lights
upgraded fish cleaning stations

As a reminder: The park, pavilion and pier are fully open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week now. As always, there is no charge to use these facilities. Don't forget to tag the City of Portland in your photos!

Thanks for posting that! I’m happy to see that pier lighting and green lights are set up. That should be a good spot for trout once the sun goes down.

Try out the Vudu shrimp under a popping cork! I have good luck with the pearl body with chartreuse tail! If you can get Gulp scent in garlic flavor a spray will go a long way! Gets more trout in the area cause of scent dispersement! Good luck and tight lines!!

I have some gulp shrimp now, never tried the vudu shrimp before. I’ve heard they last much longer than most plastics. Is that legit? I ask because I’ve heard they are pricey.
I just ordered some of the garlic scent on Amazon.

Well worth it you can dip them in the gulp solution, they have a thin mesh that runs the length of the lure and that mesh is tough, similar to the mesh found in fishbites

Brother that garlic scent is gonna be a game changer! I have a needle that I bought from a feed store that I use to inject some of that gulp solution into other plastics around the areas that have most action that way every movement the lure makes it is releasing scent while swimming like paddle tails and curly tails! I fish mainly the Portmansfield and South padre island area and it's quite the same along most of the Texas gulf coast! Just depends on water clarity i use alot of pink and white lures, some with pink and white combination for clear or slightly stained water and darker colors like black Grey and purple for dirtier water! Sometimes I catch in dirty water on white gulp grubs and minnows! Good luck on the water!!

The garlic I ordered on Amazon is in a spray bottle. I saw the container where the lure is dipped in the container, but went with the spray. Injecting makes sense though. Ever used the spray before?

Yeah buddy that spray is what I was talking about! You don't need to go full pump just short bursts... when you get it ,you'll get used to the trigger on the pump! A little goes a long way! You can spray it into your lure bags a day before so your favorite lures can marinate! Just careful when you spray it out in the open you wanna be upwind or you get overspray on you and vampires and the wife won't go near you! Hahaha it smells straight up garlic!
