New design for our clients 170 EXT which focuses on rear open area with Tetra Van indoor shower.
The new style if Tetravan shower is a bit different so we adjust our 3D model. We then started framing out the new dimensions we will need for the shower. Using the laser scan of the van we can model to within mm of acuracy.
Our welder starts working on the rear driver's side module that will house the shower fold-down.
Next we create the top side that will act as a murphy bed.
The factory Mercedes wiring harness is depinned/removed all the through the van and relocated behind the wall. This will allow us to build the wall without any worry about wiring getting in the way.

Our client would like vertical storage closet so we add a 28" wide closet next to the bench seating area.
Welding on the passenger side bed/sink/galley module. We love this stuff!
The floor insulation upgrade begins
Next w
e cut and install the walls
Next step is layout the new bed bench and module location. We want to be able to swivel around the drivers side seat.
We install the Tetra Van shower and drivers side module.
The client asked if it was possible for us to build something for her Berkey water system. We designed a small pedestal that would end up with a very close fit to allow the back doors to close.

After the frame has been built it is time to test fit it in the van.
Eduardo then adds the wood to finish out the pedestal. Should work nicely for the client.
Next up we test fit the ARB Chest freezer slider. The chest style freezer will slide out from under the sink area.
After that we test fit the under bed storage face on drivers side.
We like to relocate the factory lights when possible. This allows for the stock interior lights to come on when the door is opened on the van.
We pick a spot that will be useful when dark outside and you need to find your way into the van.
This will also be the spot that the Lagun Table will be located for the drivers swivel seat.
Next we add an overhead cab area storage shelf.
We use a Mercedes factory trim piece to sit flush with our woodwork.
Next we start to install the finished stained walls.
We prep the ceiling for the locations of the LED lights and install the van ceiling.
The solid surface counter top is added and bonded to the aluminum frame. Weight is added and after the clamping the counter looks nice.
Storage bags are hung and we test fit the rear center bed section.
