Green light LED headlamp for night pier fishing

I see anglers on YouTube videos and forums talk about green lights on piers for attracting fish when night fishing. Has anyone here tried a green color LED headlamp and had any success?
 
I do have some Green LED bars from amazon that are meant for 4 wheelers and mounted them to some pvc that I can put in a rod holder to shine at the water. I don't think they do much compared to the spotlights, but I do have them and they transport easy because they are light and small.

I do want to try building a DIY underwater greenlight and using that at the pier, but I just haven't gotten to it yet. Like this video.
 
Interesting, I was at my parents house today and my dad was showing me his green light setup and it included a mount that mounts on the pier. The. Pvc pipe is put together to extend the light about 5-6 feet away from pier edge. He just bought a new battery for it so we will try it out and I will take some pictures.
