Fishing Oyster Creek and Surfside Jetty in Freeport Texas

After fishing Freeport Riverplace most of the morning we ended up trying some other spots in Freeport later in the day.

We went to fish on Levee Road and pulled off to an area that we were told may hold some redfish called Oyster Creek.

We did not have any luck there so ended up at the Surfside Jetty County Park.

At the Surfside Jetty, I always fish the surf, go at-least behind the breaking waves if you don't want to walk that far. Never caught anything on the channel side.

Nice have you had decent luck on the surf there? Throwing lures?

I’ll use a paddle tail or spoon if the trout are out. But I mainly throw shrimp or cut bait since I like taking my 7 yr old son and we cant go home empty handed.
